Job summary

La Huerta Market in Kent, WA seeks a reliable Bakery Helper to assist in baking pastries and maintaining fresh displays under the Baker's guidance.

You will bake fresh pastries, help with bread, and keep ovens and equipment in good condition. A Food Workers Card and willingness to learn are required. This on-site role requires a flexible schedule, especially around holidays and weekends, with standing and light lifting involved.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Bake pastries and bread according to company standards and recipes.
• Keep display cases full, fresh, and presentable.
• Operate bakery ovens and machinery or learn to use them safely.
• Take inventory of ingredients and report needs to Baker.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow health regulations.
• Assist with special orders and holiday baking as needed.

Job description

Bakery helpers are responsible for baking pastries to fill the sweet bread and pastries display cases and ensure they’re always fresh for customers. They provide a wide variety of bread for customers as well as bak e cakes for the cake decorating department under the instructions of the Baker. On occasion, bakery helpers also help in creating new recipes for pastries/bread for special occasions, holidays, or when needed.

Requirements

• Previousexperience baking in a professional environment is preferred
• Food Workers Card
• Have experience with general baking supplies (portioning, measuring, weighing, etc.) or willingness to learn
• Know how to work with basic technology if needed (computers, tablets, email, applications, etc.)
• Have reliable commute to work
• Physical: must be able to stand and move around during the day,liftand carry up to 30lbs
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, especially around holidays and weekends
• Know how toproperly useandmaintainbakery ovens and machinery or willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Maintain an active Food Workers Card
• Have a positive attitude towards safety, follow all health and safety regulations and/or policies to ensure the well-being of others and self
• Attend work with company provided uniform and have a tidy appearance
• Baking fresh pastries, cake, and more according to company policies and instructions from the Bakers
• Fulfill specialized bread orders for customers
• Ensure bread display cases arefull,presentable,and clean
• Take inventoryofingredients andsupplies to ensure there are always enough for day-to-day operations, report to Baker if anything is needed
• Complete other Bakery tasks under instructions of the Baker
