Job summary

Wet Willie's in Fresno, CA, is seeking a pastry/bakery professional to produce high-quality items and creatively present desserts in a fast-paced kitchen. You will follow written recipes, measure ingredients, decorate cakes and pastries, and ensure a clean, sanitary work area.

Customer service and consistent quality across all items are essential. The role requires one year of pastry or baking experience, a valid Serve Safe Food Handler's Card, and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• One year pastry or baking experience in bakery or restaurant.
• Valid Serve Safe Food Handler's Card.
• Cake and pastry decoration experience required.
• Experience in menu development highly desirable.
• Able to work weekends and special holidays.
• Ability to stand, bend, and lift 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Produce all bakery items following written recipes, including measuring ingredients with cups or spoons.
• Decorate and finish cakes, pies and pastries.
• Promote superior customer service and maintain a clean, sanitary work area at all times.
• Maintain consistency and quality for all food items, meet menu development timelines, and achieve budgetary, food quality and customer service expectations.
• Assist in developing new recipes, order raw materials, minimize waste, and inspect raw materials for quality.
• Maintain kitchen and equipment in clean, sanitary, and operable condition.
• Work with the to-go counter to ensure all orders are complete.
• Monitor pars during service and alert pastry chef of shortages.

Job description

• Thebaker is responsible for high quality food production and innovative presentation flawlessly executed
• Assist the Pantry Chefinanefficientive and productive mannerat all times
• Will prepare all bakery items following written recipes, including measuring ingredients with measuring cups or spoons - NO EXCEPTION
• Will also decorate and finish cooked cakes, pies and pastries
• Must promote superior customer service, along with maintaining a clean and sanitary work area throughout the entire shift, complying with all sanitation and health codes
• Responsible for maintaining consistency and quality for all food items in respective areas, ensure menu development timelines are met, and achieve budgetary, food quality and customer service expectations
• Assist in the development of new recipes for current and new products, order all raw materials needed to maintain production of required volume, minimize waste and inspect all raw materials to meet established standards of quality
• Maintain the kitchen and its equipment in clean, sanitary and fully operable condition
• Works with to-go counter to ensure all orders are complete
• Monitors pars throughout service and alerts pastry chef of any shortages
