Job summary

Lowes Foods is seeking a Bakery Department Manager to supervise the bakery team and ensure guest service, merchandising, and department operations meet company standards. In the absence of the Department Manager, you will assume duties and keep the bakery running smoothly.

Responsibilities include delivering friendly service, achieving sales and profit targets, maintaining inventory, enforcing safety and sanitation standards, and training staff.

Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to lead and train staff.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Read and understand information and directions.
• Knowledge of bakery operations.
• Supervise people including training and development.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Effective communication, guest service and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to stand/bend/kneel for extended periods.
• Communicate well with Store Manager and Merchandiser.
• Proficient with computers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from bakery staff.
• Achieve budgeted sales, shrink and profits for the bakery department.
• Maintain desired level of inventory and supplies.
• Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
• Ensure the quality of product for sale meets Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Provide guidance, orientation, training and feedback to ensure bakery staff achieve satisfactory performance.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking and guest service as necessary.
• Maintain department’s labor budget and scheduling standards.
• Perform PA announcements.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
