Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market in Tampa, FL is seeking a Bakery Manager to lead the Bakery Department, oversee daily baking output, production, and displays, and ensure quality and safety standards. You will plan schedules, manage inventory and budget, and collaborate with store leadership to drive sales and customer satisfaction.

The role requires at least 2 years of retail grocery experience, strong communication and leadership, and the ability to train and coach team members.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of 2 years' retail grocery experience
• Be dependable and reliable with ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Outgoing and friendly demeanor with a positive attitude toward team members and customers
• Strong communication skills and ability to take direction in a team environment
• Answer phones and take special orders
• General housekeeping: clean and sanitize work area (tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, etc.)
• Operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, pallet jacks, hand trucks; weigh and label products accurately
• Stand for up to 3 hours continuously, with various lifting requirements up to 40 lbs., multiple hours per shift
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; obtain Food Handlers permit
• Knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily output of baking, production, and display of bakery products
• Supervise and monitor product quality, inventory, and budget for the bakery
• Evaluate department operations to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement
• Ensure safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices are followed
• Responsible for ordering, receiving, unloading, and storage of bakery supplies
• Rotate merchandise and build displays to maximize sales and gross profit
• Plan and order according to company standards; maximize efficiency and profitability
• Lead and coach team members; conduct performance reviews and promotions with Store Manager
• Attend and participate in in-store meetings; recruit and hire staff as needed
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure high quality product and outstanding customer service
• Serve as a MOD or Key Carrier as needed
• Create schedules to ensure productivity and staffing optimality
• Communicate standards and product knowledge to the team
• Drive a customer-focused, fast-paced, friendly bakery environment
