Job summary

Kroger is seeking a deli/bakery clerk to create outstanding customer experiences and maintain a safe, clean environment. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals while upholding core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities include slicing and preparing deli items, offering product samples, stocking and labeling merchandise, and ensuring proper temperature control and sanitation.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, adding, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Slice deli meats and cheeses to customer requests using proper deli equipment.
• Prepare deli/bakery/bistro items per customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples and inform customers of specials.
• Provide fresh products and correct portion sizes.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies to the department manager.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain temperatures.
• Maintain a positive attitude and assist customers throughout the store.
