Responsibilities

• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using bakery equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover items they inquire about.
• Inform customers of bakery/deli specials and promotions.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portions to minimize waste.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to meet customers' needs.
• Operate bakery equipment (refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens) per guidelines.
• Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, mix ingredients per recipes using kitchen tools.
• Package, label and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
• Check product quality, review sell-by dates, and take action as needed.
• Use kitchen equipment (stove, scale, fryer, steamer) properly.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Understand store layout and locate products on request.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; maintain product knowledge.
• Maintain inventory awareness and note stock discrepancies.
• Ensure proper temperatures and temperature logs are maintained.
• Promote trust and respect among associates; create welcoming environment.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Notify management of accidents; inspect equipment and report issues.
• Work cooperatively in high-paced, sometimes stressful environments.
