Essential Job Functions:

1. Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.
2. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
3. Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
4. Provide customers with fresh, correctly portioned products to prevent shrinkage.
5. Recommend products to ensure customer satisfaction.
6. Use bakery equipment according to guidelines.
7. Follow food safety and temperature logs, prepare foods as instructed.
8. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using appropriate utensils and equipment.
9. Package, label, and inventory ingredients and products.
10. Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take necessary actions.
11. Properly operate kitchen equipment such as refrigerators, slicers, ovens, etc.
12. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
13. Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.
14. Understand store layout and assist customers in locating products.
15. Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and seasonal items.
16. Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions and suggestions.
17. Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
18. Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
19. Create a welcoming environment for customers.
20. Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
21. Identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
22. Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
23. Report customer or employee accidents.
24. Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, managing conflicts professionally.
25. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
26. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
27. Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
