Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

1. Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
2. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
3. Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
4. Provide customers with fresh products, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
5. Recommend bakery or deli items to customers to meet their needs.
6. Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.
7. Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
8. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment.
9. Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
10. Check product quality for freshness and review "sell by" dates.
11. Properly operate kitchen equipment including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc.
12. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
13. Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.
14. Understand store layout to locate products for customers.
15. Stay current with store ads and promotions.
16. Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions with suggestions.
17. Monitor inventory and stock conditions, noting discrepancies.
18. Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keep logs.
19. Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust among associates.
20. Adhere to food safety and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
21. Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
22. Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
23. Manage conflicts professionally and act with honesty and integrity.
24. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
25. Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
26. Perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications
