Responsibilities include:
- Offering product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Informing customers about bakery and deli specials.
- Providing customers with fresh products, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommending deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
- Using bakery equipment like refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens following company guidelines.
- Preparing foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients with various kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Properly preparing, packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients.
- Checking product quality, reviewing 'sell by' dates, and taking appropriate action.
- Using kitchen equipment such as stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, and robots properly.
- Labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise.
- Reporting discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
- Understanding store layout to locate products for customers.
- Staying current with promotions and advertisements.
- Maintaining knowledge of products and responding to customer questions with suggestions.
- Monitoring inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
- Ensuring proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
- Promoting trust and respect among team members.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers.
- Adhering to food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Reinforcing safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and reporting them.
- Inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed.
