Responsibilities include:

  • Offering product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Informing customers of bakery and deli specials.
  • Providing fresh products as ordered, with correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
  • Recommending bakery or deli items to customers.
  • Using bakery equipment according to company guidelines.
  • Preparing foods following proper temperatures and instructions.
  • Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients as per recipes.
  • Packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients.
  • Checking product quality and freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates.
  • Using kitchen equipment properly.
  • Labeling, stocking, and inventorying merchandise.
  • Reporting discrepancies in product orders or shipments.
  • Knowing the store layout and locating products for customers.
  • Staying updated on ads and promotions.
  • Maintaining knowledge of products and responding to customer questions.
  • Monitoring inventory and stock conditions.
  • Maintaining proper temperatures and logs for cases and coolers.
  • Promoting trust and respect among staff.
  • Creating a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Adhering to food safety regulations.
  • Following safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Inspecting and maintaining equipment.
  • Reporting accidents or injuries.
