Responsibilities include:
- Offering product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Informing customers of bakery and deli specials.
- Providing customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommending deli or bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Using bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
- Preparing foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients as per recipes.
- Packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients and products.
- Checking product quality and freshness, reviewing 'sell by' dates, and taking appropriate action.
- Properly using kitchen equipment including stoves, scales, fryers, and steamers.
- Labeling, stocking, and inventorying merchandise.
- Reporting discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
- Knowing the store layout and locating products for customers.
- Staying current with ads and promotions.
- Maintaining knowledge of products and responding to customer questions and suggestions.
- Monitoring inventory and stock conditions.
- Ensuring proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
- Promoting trust and respect among team members.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers.
- Adhering to food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Reinforcing safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs.
- Reporting customer or employee accidents.
