Bakery/Deli Clerk (Finance)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer Service skills

  • Ability to obtain a food handlers permit once employed

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
  • Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
  • Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
  • Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
  • Use all equipment in bakery such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.
  • Prepare foods according to food temperature logs and follow cooking instructions.
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Label, stock, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
  • Properly use kitchen equipment such as stoves, scales, fryers, and steamers.
  • Maintain store layout knowledge and assist customers in locating products.
  • Stay current with ads and promotions.
  • Maintain inventory and stock levels, and report discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and maintain temperature logs.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust among associates.
  • Adhere to all food safety and safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, and notify management of accidents or issues.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Salary Range: $13.50 - $14.50
