Responsibilities include:

  • Offering product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Informing customers of bakery and deli specials.
  • Providing fresh products with accurate portion sizes to prevent shrink.
  • Recommending deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
  • Using equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
  • Preparing foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
  • Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients as per recipes.
  • Properly packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients.
  • Checking product quality and freshness, reviewing sell-by dates.
  • Using kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
  • Labeling, stocking, and inventorying merchandise.
  • Reporting discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.
  • Knowing the store layout and locating products for customers.
  • Staying current with ads and promotions.
  • Maintaining product knowledge and responding to customer inquiries.
  • Monitoring inventory and stocking conditions.
  • Maintaining proper temperatures and logs in cases and coolers.
  • Fostering trust and respect among team members.
  • Creating a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Adhering to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
  • Practicing preventive maintenance and reporting equipment issues.
  • Reporting customer or employee accidents.
  • Working cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and managing conflicts professionally.
