Key Responsibilities:
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products, ensuring correct portion sizes to minimize shrinkage.
- Recommend bakery or deli items to meet customer needs.
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
- Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients as per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
- Properly package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
- Check product quality for freshness and review 'sell by' dates.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
- Understand store layout and assist customers in locating products.
- Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and ads.
- Maintain knowledge of products and assist customers with questions and suggestions.
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
- Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers, keeping logs.
- Promote trust and respect among team members.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and providing assistance.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and safety procedures.
- Identify unsafe conditions and notify management; practice preventive maintenance.
- Report customer or employee accidents promptly.
