Responsibilities include:
- Offering product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Informing customers of bakery and deli specials.
- Providing fresh products ordered by customers, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommending bakery or deli items to meet customer needs.
- Using bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
- Preparing foods following safety and cooking instructions.
- Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients as per recipes.
- Packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients and products.
- Checking product quality, reviewing 'sell by' dates, and taking appropriate action.
- Using kitchen equipment properly, including stoves, scales, fryers, and steamers.
- Labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise.
- Reporting discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
- Understanding store layout to locate products for customers.
- Staying current with advertisements and promotions.
- Maintaining product knowledge and responding to customer inquiries with suggestions.
- Monitoring inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
- Ensuring proper temperature maintenance and logging.
- Promoting trust and respect among team members.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers.
- Adhering to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
- Practicing preventive maintenance and reporting equipment issues.
- Reporting customer or employee accidents.
