Responsibilities include:

  • Offering product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Informing customers of bakery and deli specials.
  • Providing customers with ordered products, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
  • Recommending deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
  • Using bakery equipment according to guidelines.
  • Preparing foods per temperature logs and cooking instructions.
  • Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients as per recipes.
  • Packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients.
  • Checking product quality and expiration dates.
  • Properly using kitchen equipment like slicers, ovens, fryers, etc.
  • Labeling, stocking, and inventory management.
  • Reporting discrepancies to the manager.
  • Knowing the store layout and assisting customers in locating products.
  • Staying current with ads and promotions.
  • Maintaining product knowledge and responding to customer inquiries.
  • Monitoring inventory and stocking conditions.
  • Ensuring proper temperature controls and logs.
  • Fostering trust and respect among staff.
  • Creating a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Adhering to food safety and safety procedures.
  • Reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
  • Inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs.
