Bakery/Deli Clerk (Finance)

Job Responsibilities:
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
  • Provide customers with freshly prepared products, ensuring correct portion sizes to reduce shrinkage.
  • Recommend bakery or deli items to meet customer needs.
  • Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
  • Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients as per recipes.
  • Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
  • Check product quality and freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
  • Stock and label department merchandise and report discrepancies.
  • Understand store layout to assist customers efficiently.
  • Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions.
  • Maintain knowledge of department products and answer customer questions.
  • Monitor inventory levels and conditions.
  • Maintain proper temperature logs for cases and coolers.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Adhere to food safety and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs.
  • Report accidents involving customers or employees.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflict appropriately.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
  • Support and assist diverse customer groups, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
