Responsibilities include:

  • Offering product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Informing customers of bakery and deli specials.
  • Providing fresh products as ordered, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
  • Recommending deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
  • Using bakery equipment according to guidelines.
  • Preparing foods per temperature logs and cooking instructions.
  • Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients as per recipes.
  • Packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients and products.
  • Checking product quality and freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates.
  • Properly using kitchen equipment like refrigerators, slicers, ovens, etc.
  • Labeling, stocking, and inventory management.
  • Reporting discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.
  • Knowing store layout and locating products for customers.
  • Staying current with ads and promotions.
  • Maintaining product knowledge and responding to customer inquiries.
  • Monitoring inventory conditions and ensuring proper temperatures and logs.
  • Promoting a respectful and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues.
  • Adhering to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
  • Practicing preventive maintenance and reporting equipment issues.
  • Reporting accidents and unsafe conditions.
  • Working cooperatively in a high-paced environment and managing conflicts effectively.
  • Acting with honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
  • Following directions and seeking help when needed.
  • Supporting vulnerable populations, including minors, individuals with special needs, and seniors.
