Job summary

Fiesta Mart in Houston, TX is seeking a Bakery Clerk (ages 16-17) to deliver friendly, helpful service in the bakery. Under supervision from the Bakery Manager, you will assist customers with bakery purchases, stock displays, and keep cases clean.

You should read and write both Spanish and English, follow simple instructions, and lift up to 60 pounds as needed. A Food Handler Card is required; opportunities include continuing education benefits.

Qualifications

• Read and write Spanish/English, interact with public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, and short memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information clearly in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Follow detailed but uninvolved instructions.
• Regularly lift/move up to 60 pounds, with 25–60 pounds frequent use.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly customer service in the Bakery department.
• Assist customers with bakery purchases and keep shelves and displays clean.
• Clean, fill, and rotate self-serve displays near the bakery.
• Take special orders from customers and coordinate with the Baker.
• Assist with baking/decorating planning as needed.
• Support department cleaning and floor maintenance.
