Sprouts Farmers Market in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a Bakery Clerk who will assist in preparing, baking and packaging all bakery items while delivering friendly, high‑quality customer service in a fast‑paced environment.

You will support the Bakery Manager, ensure accurate pricing and rotation, maintain a clean and safe workstation, handle special orders, stock products, and help with daily duties to keep the bakery area inviting and organized for shoppers seeking fresh bakery goods.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old with a High school diploma or equivalent; with 1-2 years Bakery experience; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable with ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Have and show an outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.
• Have good communication skills and ability to take direction and work in a team.
• Be able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department and keep area clean and sanitary.
• Be able to operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, and manual handling equipment;
• Stand for long periods and handle physical tasks as described.
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations and obtain a Food Handlers permit.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods.
• Provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are prepared, packaged, presented, and the area stays clean.
• Maintain a clean, safe bakery area and equipment, clean shelves, floors, and remove spills.
• Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while rotating products and discarding outdated items.
• Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality.
• Thrive in a fast paced environment and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
