Job summary

El Super #17 is seeking a Bakery Clerk in Los Angeles. Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, you will provide friendly customer service, assist customers with bakery purchases, and help keep displays clean and rotated.

You may work with the Baker to determine which items require baking or decoration and handle special orders. The role emphasizes physical tasks, including lifting, standing, and moving around a fast-paced grocery environment.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, and short memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information to customers and coworkers.
• Lift and/or move up to 60 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service in the Bakery department and assist customers with bakery purchases.
• Clean shelving and display cases; rotate and stock self-serve displays in front of the store and near the bakery.
• Assist the Baker with items that may need baking or decorating and take special orders.
• Help with department cleaning and floor maintenance as needed.
