Job summary

El Super in San Bernardino, CA is looking for a Bakery Clerk to support the bakery under the Bakery Manager. You will provide friendly, helpful service, assist customers with purchases, and help maintain a clean, appealing display area.

This position involves lifting, standing, walking, and working in a fast-paced grocery setting. Responsibilities include stocking and rotating displays, assisting with special orders, and coordinating with the Baker on items to bake or decorate.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service in the bakery and assist customers with bakery purchases.
• Clean shelving and display cases; rotate and refresh self‑serve displays near the bakery.
• Assist customers with special orders and coordinate with the Baker on items to bake or decorate.
• Assist in department cleaning, including hosing down floors, to maintain department cleanliness.
