Job summary

Fiesta Mart in Houston is seeking a Bakery Clerk to support the Bakery department with friendly customer service and hands-on product handling. You’ll assist customers, restock self-serve displays, take special orders with the Bakery team, and help with baking/ decorating decisions while maintaining cleanliness in a fast-paced grocery environment.

Basic PC/Outlook skills and a Food Handler Card are preferred.

Qualifications

• Read and write Spanish/English, interact with general public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required for all positions related to: preparation, handling and serving food.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with bakery purchases and provide friendly service.
• Clean shelving and display cases; restock self-serve displays in front of the store and near the bakery.
• Take special orders and coordinate with the Baker on baked or decorated items.
• Assist with department cleaning, including hoses and floors to maintain cleanliness.
• Support bakery team with item placement and display management.
