Job summary

Fiesta Mart in Houston is seeking a Bakery Clerk for the 008 Houston-Wirt Road location. Under Bakery Manager supervision, you will assist customers with bakery purchases, stock shelves, rotate and maintain self-serve displays, and coordinate with the Baker on special orders.

This role requires bilingual English/Spanish, basic PC/Outlook skills, and the physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds. Food handling certification may be required.

Qualifications

• Read and write Spanish/English; interact with general public and co‑workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service to customers with bakery purchases.
• Clean shelving and display cases.
• Fill, rotate, and maintain self‑serve displays in the front and adjacent to the bakery.
• Take special orders and work with the Baker to determine items that need to be baked or decorated.
• Assist in department cleaning, including hosing down floors with soap and water.
