The Classic Catering People in Owings Mills, MD is seeking a seasoned Bakery Chef to lead our bakery production, crafting breads, pastries, cakes and desserts that elevate events.

You will manage daily production, develop new recipes, supervise junior bakers, ensure top-quality, safe, high-volume outputs for weddings and catering, while maintaining cost-conscious inventories and a collaborative kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional baking experience in high-volume settings.
• Expertise in pastries, breads, cakes and confections.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation (ServSafe preferred).
• Experience managing ingredients, ordering, and inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Craft breads, pastries, cakes and desserts with consistent quality and presentation.
• Develop and refine recipes, introducing innovative items aligned with trends and client preferences.
• Manage all bakery operations from daily production schedules to inventory and ingredient ordering.
• Maintain cleanliness and adherence to health and safety regulations in the bakery workspace.
• Collaborate with the catering team to ensure seamless event execution and special orders.
• Train and mentor junior baking staff to foster a positive kitchen environment.
• Monitor bakery supplies and costs to optimize profitability.
