Job summary

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment by answering questions about products in the department and store.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions, offering suggestions.
• Offer samples and prepare bakery items, decorating cakes and other pastries as requested using proper equipment.
• Recommend bakery items to ensure customers get what they want.
• Check product quality and freshness, review sell-by dates, and use equipment safely.
• Label, stock, sign, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Understand the store layout and assist customers with locating products.
• Maintain awareness of inventory and note discrepancies.
• Adhere to health, safety, and other store rules and loss prevention policies.
• Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Perform preventive maintenance and notify management of repairs needed.
• Report safety risks or incidents to management.
