Responsibilities

• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued by answering product questions.
• Gain knowledge of department products and respond to questions.
• Offer product samples and prepare bakery items per requests.
• Recommend bakery items to customers.
• Check product quality and monitor sell-by dates; manage equipment per guidelines.
• Decorate cakes, pastries, cookies and other bakery items.
• Label, stock, sign, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in orders or shipments to management.
• Understand the store layout and stay current with ads and promotions.
• Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and note discrepancies.
• Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation requirements.
• Follow safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions for management.
• Perform preventive maintenance and report repairs as needed.
• Report safety risks or incidents to management.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
