Job summary

Panera Bread is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead an experienced team in a beloved neighborhood bakery-cafe. You’ll partner with the General Manager to oversee operations, delight guests, and grow the business while hiring, training, and developing the team at your location.

You’ll drive key decisions, manage staffing, and ensure adherence to standards, profitability, and our Guiding Values. This role offers a path for leadership growth and a dynamic, guest‑facing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 years.
• 1+ years of restaurant management experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification (or ability to achieve).
• Proven ability to drive positive results through strong business acumen.
• Proven availability to run great shifts in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager by making key decisions and problem solving.
• Plan and manage staffing needs, shift scheduling, people development, and succession planning.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members while motivating and celebrating the team.
• Assist with managing team performance to meet goals, standards, and guest service expectations.
• Partner with the General Manager to develop managers on processes and Panera’s values.
