Job summary

Panera LLC in Marion, IL seeks an Assistant General Manager to lead a bakery‑cafe team and partner with the General Manager on operations, staffing, and guest satisfaction. You will hire, train, and develop team members while driving business results and maintaining Panera’s standards in a fast-paced environment.

You will inspire your team, celebrate successes, and manage costs and inventory while upholding health, safety, and quality protocols at your location.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of restaurant management experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain).
• Proven ability to drive results through strong business acumen.
• Flexible hours including nights and weekends in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager by making key decisions and solving problems.
• Plan staffing needs, shifts, people development, career development, and succession planning.
• Recruit, onboard, and train new team members while motivating, energizing, and celebrating the entire team.
• Assist with managing team performance to ensure the bakery‑cafe’s goals, operational and quality standards, and guest service expectations are met.
• Partner with the General Manager to develop managers on people’s processes and Panera’s Values & Behaviors.
• Work as a team to ensure every guest is delighted by the quality of food, service, and our team.
• Build engaging relationships that lead to long-term, loyal guests as part of the management team.
• Follow procedures to ensure bakery‑cafe executes company strategies and initiatives.
• Ensure team members follow policies and comply with regulations; maintain a safe workplace.
