Hy-Vee Bakery Clerk is a friendly, customer-focused role in our store bakery. You’ll greet customers, help them find items, and assist with orders while maintaining product freshness and a clean, organized workspace.

No prior experience is required; we’ll train you on proper sanitation, safety, and customer service. This position supports the bakery team and aims to create a welcoming, sweet experience for shoppers.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills for counting and transactions.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with confidence.
• Strong communication with customers and teammates.
• Organized and able to keep a fast bakery area tidy.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide helpful bakery service.
• Assist customers, locate items, and take orders at the bakery counter.
• Monitor freshness and supply levels throughout shifts.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish baked goods as needed.
• Maintain sanitation and keep work area clean and organized.
• Operate the department register for payments where applicable.
• Assist in other store areas and follow dress code and policies.
• Report to Store Director/Manager and Bakery Dept Manager.
