Hy-Vee is hiring a Bakery Clerk to help run a busy in-store bakery. You will greet customers, help them find items, and take orders at the bakery counter while ensuring products are fresh and well-presented.

The role involves preparing and replenishing baked goods, maintaining sanitation, and supporting teammates to deliver a warm, welcoming shopping experience in a fast-paced bakery environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and making them feel welcome in the bakery
• Assist customers with finding products, reaching items, carrying heavy purchases, and taking orders at the bakery counter
• Review daily orders and monitor product freshness, appearance, and supply levels throughout your shift
• Prepare, finish, and replenish baked goods as needed, pulling product from the cooler or freezer to prepare for baking
• Follow and maintain proper sanitation procedures, keeping your work area clean and organized at all times
• Check in product, put product away, and review invoices as needed
• Operate the department register to process payments where applicable
• Remove trash in a timely manner and maintain a tidy department
• Work alongside your teammates to ensure a smooth, positive experience for every customer
• Maintain compliance with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policies
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed
