Job summary

ShopRite of Hillside in Hillside, NJ seeks a Baker to assist the Bakery Manager with baking, dough mixing, icing, packaging and filling of pastry and bread items, while keeping the department neat and safe.

Follow recipes, operate production equipment, rotate stock for freshness, ensure accurate signage, and provide friendly customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates must be 18+, able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand long hours, and comply with safety and QA standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak English fluently.
• Stand/walk for entire shift.
• Lift 25 lbs regularly, up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Work in varying temperatures.
• Able to handle products, spices, and cleaning agents.
• Interact with customers in a friendly way.
• Cooperate with others.
• Adhere to schedules and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Sanitize surfaces, utensils and equipment per QA standards.
• Rotate merchandise to ensure freshness.
• Provide prompt, courteous service to customers.
• Follow recipes to produce baked goods.
• Operate and tend bakery equipment per recipes.
• Ensure accurate department signage.
