Settlers Hospitality Group in Hawley, PA is seeking a Baker who will reproduce our breads and pastries to spec for retail and wholesale customers. The ideal candidate starts early, works with the Executive Pastry Chef, and helps maintain our reputation for impeccable baked goods.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of relevant experience, and knowledge of food safety. Formal culinary training is highly desired.

• Cleans work areas and all equipment used in food preparation.

• Monitors product levels and re-stocks as required, rotating goods to reduce shrinkage.
• Maintains work area in a neat and organized manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Description

The Baker is responsible for reproducing the baker's recipes for breads and pastries to exact specifications for our retail and wholesale customers. We have built a reputation for impeccable bread and pastries and the successful candidate will be able to maintain that reputation. The ideal candidate is also able to start work in the early morning hours as is typical for a bakery operation.

The Baker works closely with our Executive Pastry Chef and has the opportunity to learn from one of the best bakers in our area. The bakery is located in the historic Hawley Silk Mill Building.

The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma, at least one year prior relevant experience, and knowledge of food safety and handling requirements. Formal culinary training is highly desired. In addition, the Baker/Finisher must have excellent customer service skills, effective oral and written skills, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior.
