Job summary

Great Western Dining at the Southeast Community College - Lincoln location is seeking a skilled Baker to prepare a wide range of baked goods including breads, pastries, cookies, and specialty items. The ideal candidate will have experience in baking techniques, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and cleanliness. This role requires early morning shifts and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Full Time, Mon-Fri 7am - 3pm

Qualifications

  • One to two years as a baker or bakery background preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; formal culinary or baking training preferred.
  • Knowledge of yeasts and other pre-ferments encouraged.
  • Customer service oriented for a student-oriented environment.
  • Must be dependable and reliable.
  • Ability to bake desserts from scratch.
  • Experience in production line baking or food processing.
  • Knowledge of proper food handling and safety guidelines.
  • Detail oriented with ability to follow directions for equipment and recipe production.

Responsibilities

  • Produce standard baked goods such as cakes, cookies, biscuits, muffins and puddings
  • Assist in developing new recipes and menu items when applicable
  • Unload, clean and operate mixers
  • Maintain daily production, sanitation sheets and applicable forms
  • Assist with cleaning the kitchen and maintaining a sanitary work area
  • Meet or exceed all HACCP sanitation and safety standards
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen or bakery staff to meet production deadlines
  • Other duties as required & assigned

  • Assists with cleaning the kitchen and maintaining a sanitary work area
  • Meet or exceed all established HACCP sanitation and safety standards
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen or bakery staff to meet production deadlines.
  • Other duties as required & assigned
