Job summary

Dartmouth Health is seeking a cook to review menus and production orders and prepare hot items and baked goods in our dining operation. You will follow standardized methods, operate kitchen equipment, and ensure consistent quality of prepared foods.

Responsibilities include monitoring taste, temperature, sanitation, and presentation, with rotating shifts, and potential opening or closing duties as needed. A team-focused, safety-conscious approach is essential.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with 2 years of cook experience.
• Formal culinary education highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews menus, work orders or customer orders to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared.
• Utilizes standardized production methods to operate equipment and recipes for hot production items and baked goods.
• Monitors quantity, quality, taste, and temperature of all foods and baked goods prepared; garnishes and presents hood foods and baked goods.
• Maintains sanitation and neatness of area walk-in and reach-in refrigerators and storage areas.
• Communicates with co-workers and supervisors throughout the department.
