Job summary

Dartmouth College is hiring a Cook Helper for part-time, flexible schedules in Hanover, NH. Work 7am through 2:30am across dining prep areas, up to 35 hours weekly, with schedule and hours chosen based on operational needs. Interviews begin mid-July for a mid-August start.

Under supervision, you assist with food preparation, learn sanitation and kitchen equipment use, and help with general duties in a welcoming campus environment. Training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
• Familiarity with standard cooking methods preferred, but training available.
• Basic understanding of cleanliness and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to read, understand and follow recipes.
• Ability to perform basic math and measurements.
• Interpersonal and communication skills; ability to follow customer relations policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of food items, wash, peel, cut and seed vegetables and fruits; assist with meats, poultry and seafood.
• Weigh and measure designated ingredients and carry food to and from work stations.
• Maintain proper temperature control and food storage, assist customers.
• Follow on-the-job sanitation procedures and proper equipment use.
• Support other duties as requested.
