Chang's China Bistro, Inc. is seeking a Backwaiter to support restaurant operations by delivering food to guests promptly and courteously, assisting with dining room cleanliness, and maintaining service stations. All team members must provide excellent customer service to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

The Backwaiter role emphasizes teamwork and hospitality in a Pan-Asian dining setting, with on‑the‑job training, flexible scheduling, and room for advancement.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; training provided.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Possess or obtain a Food Handler’s Card, where applicable.
• Ability to stand, reach, bend, balance, and lift up to 30 lbs repeatedly.
• Strong multitasking in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Excellent communication and composure under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food to guests efficiently and meet requests.
• Monitor expo line, run trays of food for dine-in, assist guests with questions.
• Clear and sanitize tables, seating, and floors.
• Retrieve and transport dirty dishes to the dishwashing station.
• Restock and clean service stations as needed.
• Operate kitchen equipment and POS systems.
• Interact courteously with guests and notify managers of issues.
• Follow policies, dress code, and safety procedures.
• Assist with greeting, seating guests, answering phones, and packaging takeout orders.
• Support beverage preparation and responsible alcohol service when required.
