Job summary

Meijer is seeking an experienced store management professional to lead day-to-day operations across departments and mentor a diverse team. You will oversee staffing, training, and performance, while driving sales, controlling shrink, and maintaining exceptional customer service.

The role emphasizes leadership, operational excellence, and adherence to company standards to ensure a positive shopping experience for customers in a large, multi-state retailer setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise daily operations across store departments.
• Mentor and coach team members; drive customer service and sales goals.
• Oversee staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions; make recommendations on discharge.
• Manage P&L, achieve sales targets and control shrink.
• Model fast, friendly customer service and Meijer initiatives.
• Ensure team training and thorough readiness for all tasks.
• Maintain a safe, clean and compliant work environment.
