Job summary

Transervice Logistics is seeking a detailed Backhaul Coordinator in Denver to identify and secure profitable backhaul opportunities. You will coordinate pickups and deliveries, work with brokers and drivers, and track loads from scheduling through delivery to maximize fleet utilization.

The role requires strong organization, communication, and knowledge of DOT hours-of-service. You will help reduce empty miles and improve transportation cost efficiency while supporting customer commitments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years in transportation, dispatch, freight coordination, or a related field.
• Experience in dedicated contract transport or private fleet is desirable.
• Knowledge of DOT hours-of-service and load planning.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and dispatch systems.
• Ability to evaluate freight opportunities by mileage, timing, and revenue.

Responsibilities

• Identify and secure backhaul opportunities that align with equipment, routes, schedules, and requirements.
• Coordinate and schedule backhaul pickups and deliveries to maximize utilization.
• Communicate with brokers, customers, carriers, and internal teams about load details and changes.
• Match available backhaul freight with drivers, tractors, trailers, routes, and HOS availability.
• Monitor backhaul loads from scheduling through pickup and final delivery.
• Assist with rate confirmation, load documentation, and proof-of-delivery for timely billing.
• Maintain records of backhaul loads, rates, mileage, pickup and delivery information, and communications.
