Ashley Furniture Industries, LLC is seeking a Backhaul Transportation Coordinator to optimize the transportation network and reduce empty miles. You will partner with fleet managers to utilize drivers, solicit freight, and leverage load boards to find profitable backhaul opportunities.

Responsibilities include driver coordination, rate negotiation, load matching, and maintaining data integrity across TMS and systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Experience in transportation, logistics, freight brokerage, or similar field.
• Familiarity with load boards such as DAT and Truckstop platforms.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with customers and brokers.
• Ability to analyze data and identify opportunities for revenue growth.
• Proactive mindset and problem-solving in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Responsabilités

• Partner with Assistant Fleet Managers to identify backhaul opportunities and optimize driver utilization.
• Coordinate driver schedules and availability to maximize capacity and minimize empty miles.
• Communicate with drivers on load assignments, pickup times, and delivery requirements.
• Monitor driver hours of service to ensure DOT compliance while maximizing backhaul opportunities.
• Solicit freight from customers, brokers, and shipping partners to secure loads.
• Use load boards and TMS to match capacity with freight opportunities.
• Ensure load tenders have complete information and maintain records of backhaul transactions.
• Negotiate rates with customers and brokers to maximize profitability.
• Analyze lane reports to drive revenue growth and identify profitable lanes.
