Ashley Furniture Industries seeks an Operations Coordinator – Transportation to oversee transportation logistics between the distribution center and partners, ensuring timely deliveries and optimized efficiency. The role acts as a liaison with internal teams and external providers, managing documentation and reporting.

You will support route optimization, issue resolution, and performance tracking while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced retail distribution environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, logistics, supply chain, or transportation coordination including managing orders and inventory.
• Strong organizational skills, detail orientation, and deadline focus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with internal teams and external partners.
• Proven problem-solving ability to troubleshoot issues and make quick decisions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Transportation Logistics: Manage and schedule transportation activities to ensure timely deliveries from the distribution center to customers and retail locations
• Track Performance: Monitor delivery schedules and performance metrics, resolving issues to keep shipments on time
• Collaborate Across Departments: Work with inventory, warehouse operations, and customer service for timely order fulfillment
• Manage Documentation: Handle shipping documents, proofs of delivery, and safety compliance
• Optimize Routing: Partner with drivers and carriers to improve routes and reduce costs
• Troubleshoot Transportation Issues: Quickly resolve scheduling and transportation disruptions
• Suggest Process Improvements: Identify opportunities to improve transportation coordination and efficiency
• Carrier Communication: Maintain regular contact with carriers and logistics partners on schedules and standards
• System Management: Use TMS and ERP systems to track shipments and generate reports
• Performance Reporting: Analyze on-time delivery and carrier performance metrics
• Safety Compliance: Ensure DOT regulations and safety standards are followed
