Ashley Furniture Industries is seeking a Transportation Manager to lead our delivery operations at the retail fulfillment center. The role focuses on route optimization, carrier partnerships, and delivering furniture on time with care.

You will manage budgets, lead a delivery team, and drive continuous improvement in end-to-end fulfillment. Ideal candidates have extensive last-mile experience, strong analytical and leadership skills, and a proven track record with TMS and routing software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or last-mile delivery operations.
• 3+ years of people management leading frontline operations teams.
• Experience with TMS and routing software.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily final mile delivery operations including route planning, scheduling, and dispatch.
• Manage delivery fleet operations, ensuring maintenance, compliance, and efficient utilization.
• Monitor real-time delivery performance and address service disruptions.
• Coordinate with warehouse for seamless handoff from fulfillment to delivery.
• Develop and enforce SOPs for final mile processes.
• Lead safety, staffing, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Negotiate with carriers and manage vendor relationships.
• Develop and present performance reports to leadership.
