Ashley Furniture Industries, LLC is seeking a Backhaul Transportation Coordinator in Redlands, CA. You will reduce empty miles, maximize revenue, and collaborate with fleet managers to identify drivers for backhaul opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred in logistics or related field.
• Experience in transportation, logistics, freight brokerage, or similar field is preferred.
• Familiarity with load boards (DAT, Internet Truckstop, Truckstop.com) and TMS is a plus.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with customers and brokers.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Fleet Managers to identify backhaul opportunities and optimize driver utilization.
• Coordinate driver schedules, pickup times, and delivery requirements to maximize efficiency.
• Solicit freight from customers, brokers, and partners to secure backhaul loads.
• Use load boards and TMS to match capacity with opportunities and update records in real time.
• Negotiate rates and maintain accurate documentation for all backhaul transactions.
• Monitor KPIs such as revenue per mile and backhaul utilization to drive improvement.
