Job summary

State of Connecticut - Department of Children and Families (DCF) is seeking two full-time Processing Technician positions based in Hartford, CT. These roles report to the Unit Supervisor and handle background check requests with accuracy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities include data entry, reviewing records, communicating with internal teams and external agencies, and maintaining confidential electronic files. The position offers a hybrid schedule, 40 hours a week, and first-shift hours.

Qualifications

• Three years of clerical work experience.
• One year of a full range of clerical duties.
• College training may substitute for experience.
• Experience with data entry and MS Office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs the most complex duties related to clerical processing.
• Examines incoming materials for accuracy and completeness.
• Makes corrections and adds information as needed.
• Initiates and maintains communications with internal and external resources.
• Interprets and applies statutes and regulations to processing.
• Maintains office procedures, filing and indexing systems.
• Maintains calendars and prepares status or statistical reports.
• Types correspondence, forms and documentation for processing.
• May lead lower level clerical staff in processing duties.
