Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is hiring a Backflow Technician in Irving, TX. The role tests backflow assemblies, diagnoses issues, and maintains documentation to meet local code requirements. You will interact with customers and teams while traveling to various job sites.

Ideal candidates have a BAPT license, 3+ years in fire and life safety, and a solid understanding of backflow systems. A clean driving record is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BAPT license is required for the role.
• 3+ years in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Strong understanding of backflow systems.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).

Responsibilities

• Independently perform testing on backflow assemblies using calibrated differential gauges.
• Diagnose assembly failures and replace internal components.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete tasks.
• Submit digital Test and Maintenance Reports to local water authorities on time.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Adhere to safety procedures and company policies.
