Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Backflow Technician to perform annual testing, hazard evaluations, and repairs on water systems. You will work with minimal supervision to ensure safe, code-compliant backflow protection across residential and commercial properties.

The role requires a BAPT license, 3+ years in fire and life safety, and a drive-friendly mindset for travel to sites. Competitive pay, benefits, and a vehicle may be provided for eligible positions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BAPT license is required.
• 3+ years in fire/life-safety or related field.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Clean driving record and active license if driving is required.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform backflow testing on assemblies using calibrated gauges.
• Diagnose failures, replace components, and rebuild units.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment for tasks.
• Submit digital Test and Maintenance Reports to water authorities timely.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Communicate with customers and team members; maintain clean work area.
• Travel to job sites as required.
