Job summary

CoStar Group is hiring a Software Engineer II to join a new team building back-end services, APIs, and integrations in the finance tech organization. Based in Richmond, VA, the role focuses on moving financial data between external platforms and our enterprise contract system, through configurable, reusable services.

You will work with REST APIs, message queues, and SQL databases, promoting maintainable, well-tested code and scalable design patterns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required from an accredited program.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with strongly typed languages for server-side processing (C#, Go, Java, or Node with TypeScript).
• Experience with relational databases and SQL performance optimization.
• Experience building scalable APIs and system integrations (REST, messaging, event streams).
• Knowledge of CI/CD, IaC, automated deployments, and source control.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to architectural decisions aligned with business goals.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust back-end services and APIs using .NET, SQL, and related data tools.
• Champion maintainable, well-tested code with good design patterns.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, DevOps and DBA teams to deliver production systems.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and development-ready specs.
