Job summary

CoStar Group in Richmond, VA is seeking a Software Engineer II (Backend) to help build the next generation of backend services, APIs, and data integrations in the Finance Tech organization.

You will design scalable systems moving financial data between external platforms and our enterprise contracting system, focusing on configurable, reusable components and maintainable code. This role is based in Richmond with a hybrid schedule (Mon–Thu in office, Fri remote).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 3+ years of professional software development in server-side languages.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL performance optimization.
• Experience building scalable APIs and system integrations (REST, messaging).
• Experience with CI/CD, IaC, and automated deployment practices.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to technical discussions and architectural decisions.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend apps and APIs using .NET and SQL.
• Champion maintainable, well-tested code with clear design patterns.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, DevOps and DBA teams to deliver systems.
• Translate requirements into designs and development-ready specs.
