Capital Technology Group is hiring a Software Developer to design and lead scalable, secure solutions for federal modernization projects. You will own end-to-end architecture across apps, integrations, cloud environments, APIs, and enterprise systems, collaborating with engineering, product, and delivery teams.

The role emphasizes secure coding, CI/CD, and modern software delivery, with strong emphasis on backend APIs, data flows, and distributed systems. Hybrid remote-work options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of professional experience in software development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Groovy, Spring Boot, and OpenJDK.
• Experience with REST and GraphQL APIs, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of software development principles, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience with version control, testing, debugging, code reviews, and CI/CD.
• Experience with AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps, secure coding, and modern software delivery practices.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications and services.
• Translate business and product requirements into reliable, maintainable solutions.
• Build backend services and APIs using Java, Groovy, Spring Boot, and OpenJDK.
• Develop and integrate REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Work with MySQL and PostgreSQL and implement application integrations and data flows.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevSecOps, infrastructure, and product teams to deliver software.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across development, testing, and production environments.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Contribute to CI/CD, automated testing, cloud adoption, and application modernization.
• Apply secure coding practices and support performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Document technical solutions and development processes.
