Job summary

Attain Talent is seeking a Technical Lead to support federal software modernization. Remote in the United States. A senior engineering leader will guide backend architecture, API development, and scalable systems across enterprise environments.

Responsibilities include driving full software lifecycle, leading design reviews, mentoring engineers, and ensuring secure, testable delivery with CI/CD pipelines. Strong backend and cloud experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 9+ years of professional software engineering experience, including enterprise application development.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Java, Spring Boot, OpenJDK, GraphQL, Ruby on Rails, and REST APIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and modernization of enterprise software systems for federal mission needs.
• Drive engineering across the full software lifecycle from architecture to deployment.
• Build scalable, secure backend applications using modern engineering practices.
• Architect and develop APIs using REST and GraphQL.
• Lead design discussions, architecture reviews, and technical decision-making.
• Partner with product, architecture, DevSecOps, and infrastructure teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and establish engineering standards.
• Support secure software delivery, code quality, testing automation, and CI/CD pipeline integration.
